Biographical
Sketch
Dr. Adams currently serves
as the Associate General Minister and Vice
President and chief of staff for the General
Minister and President.
His main areas of responsibility include
the General Assembly, the General Board,
Disciples Mission Fund and Promotion, Treasury
Services, Stewardship Ministries, and
Communication Ministries.
In addition, Todd is the liaison to the
Christian Church Foundation, Pension Fund,
Church Extension, Wilshire Christian Church
Foundation, and the National City Christian
Church Foundation.
Todd recently
served as the Senior Minister of Memorial Drive
Christian Church, Houston, Texas.
During his seven years, the congregation
grew from 135 to over 300 in worship and
constructed a $2.8 million sanctuary.
Todd is a 1994 graduate of Chapman
University with a degree in Political Science.
He completed his masters of divinity in
1997 at Phillips Theological Seminary.
In 2007, he graduated for Wesley
Theological Seminary where he earned a doctor of
ministry in stewardship and leadership.
Todd’s dissertation focused
on the steward as a biblical image of
leadership, raising critical questions around
the congregation’s need to clearly assess their
leadership needs in the search and call process,
while provide clergy with a similar assessment.
Todd served as a Lewis Fellowship
focusing on the dynamics of congregational
leadership and the pastor as leader.
Currently, Todd presents
workshops for the Christian Church on non-profit
governance, congregational leadership,
congregational staff management, and
stewardship.
Todd has been married to
Kimberly for fifteen (15) years.
They have two children, Claire and
Jackson.
Todd enjoys spending time with his
family, gardening, traveling, and coaching his
children’s athletic teams.
